17th Annual Taste of the High Country May 5, 2009
This year’s Taste of the High Country was a resounding success. We raised over $9,000.00 to build more Habitat homes. We had 19 restaurants providing a variety of foods for even the most discerning palette and music by Andy Owens. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to the 18th Annual Taste of the High Country and look forward seeing everyone there again next year.

Got Land? We need land!

Watauga County Habitat for Humanity is looking for land. Do you know of anyone willing to donate or sell land for Habitat homes? Land must be in Watauga County and meet health department requirements for septic systems by perking. Watauga County requires new homes be built on a minimum of a half acre of land. Ideally, the land would be donated and the owner would receive the benefit of a charitable contribution that would lower their tax burden. A charitable contribution is available to anyone selling land to Habitat for less that market value as well. Help keep our volunteers happy, help us find land and keep our volunteers building homes for families in need!
